Re: Repair

You'll find many TV stations are in stereo only and you'll only get surround by pressing Pro-Logic2. Some stations are transmitting in Surround but not enough of them. Much of that comes from the original source soundtrack which often is stereo only so it's not always the fault of the station.

Re: Repair

Did you test the unit by installing the left speaker in the right side jacks? If the same feed side of your amp is still not giving you anything, you know it is the problem. If the speaker that didn't work...still doesn't...the speaker or its connection is bad.

Some amps have fuses in the speaker outputs. If so, you may find one has blown.

No sound on right side speakers on A&B.Sound does work in test mode. Right side Chanel is working, just no sound on right side front in all input modes. I'm a amateur when it comes to stereos.

Go to "menu/Setup/Speaker level" and adjust the balance of L-R.See page 21 of the manual:

Only one side speakers are it a fuse?

Not unless your speaker is has fused input protection. if no speaker will produce any sound, it may be the output transistors. Make sure the balance is balanced, and correct polarity. Get an RA(return authorization) for the Yamaha USA Repair center if you can't fiqure it out. The do good work for reasonable rates.
Sorry I couldn't make it easy for ya.

Smoked a card or module on top left hand side of reciever and none of my speakers on surround sound and throughout the house work.Is it worth fixing or get a new receiver?

I think one of the amplifier channels is blown. The repair is about $120. Check prices for new receivers and decide. Thanks.

I can only get the right half of the speakers to work, how do I get the rest?

switch the speaker connectors and see if the ones that work on the right work on the left. if they do then your amp is ok and the problem is either the wiring for the right side or the right side speakers. If the speakers don't work when you try this swap, then you have a bad channel onn your amp and will need a bench mechanic to fix it, (if you could find one). also make sure that you have a signal to both the right and the left, this can be tested by again doing a swap, take the left feed and put it in the side that is now working and if you hear sound then the inpurs are ok

I have a set of tamon studio monitor speakers with 24 inch subbies the rubbers around the subbies have pearished can i fix them. The speakers are 23 years old.

I have repaired speaker surrounds using repair kits from an internet company- 'Simply Speakers .com" The repair worked 100%.

Speaker b has no sound

Now when you say side A and side B are you refuring to left and right?? Speakers A or B Are a differant set of speakers like front and rear. if you mean right side works and the left side dosent then yes it could be a fuse if the units old enough. Make sure you check the balance control to see if its in the middle or turned all the way to one side. you would be surprosed how many times Ive seen this problem. if you unplug the unit and look around and see any fuses take them out one at a time and see if they are blown as you would see the little filiment inside burnt or broken. Replace Only with the same type And rating. If you turn on the unit and the fuse pops again or theres no differance then its time to take the unit in to a repair shop unless you know how to troubleshoot solid state electronics. The only user serviceable parts inside of this unit would be the fuses. If there are no fuses popped then its also time to take the unit to the servicer. Good Luck
