My pictures are coming out blown out with white lines streaking through them. After retaking a photo 4 or 5 times I can get a normal shot.

The shutter is sticking. You will probably find the video function works ok as this does not use the shutter.

Digital cameras don't have a shutter. You are having problems with the timing electronics. Go to the camera website and download the firmware for your camera. It might be upgraded, it might be what you have now. Either way, it will be complete and uncorrupted and should take care of your problem.
