Convergence vertical red line is jagged on upper

If you go into the customer menu and select convergence and either red or blue will not move in some direction---up and down or left and right--It is a Convergence problem.

I have repaired hundreds of these sets with this type of trouble---it depends on if you have some level of skill at soldering etc---This set uses 2 Convergence chips and both along with any of the protect resistors around them that are bad would have to be replaced.

Check the set in the convergence mode and if you see what I have described let me know---If you can do the repair--I can tell you the best place to get the parts and also what exactly else to look for bad.

If you cannot do this yourself, I have options I can suggest for you---least expensive way is if you can do it yourself---This kind of repair is very common in all rear projection sets--I did 2 today here where I live--about one hour start to finish in someones home.

After it is repaired--it will not have the same problem again for 5-8 years---lifespan of the two chips.
