Did you format your memory stick from your PSP?

  • Gabbage Dec 30, 2007

The flashing of the lights indicates that your PSP recognizes the memory stick. All you have to do, I guess, is to format it using your PSP.

If you have important data on you memory stick, back them up on your computer. Then format the memory stick with your PSP. After that, put all your PSP data from the computer back onto your memory stick.

See if the PSP recognizes your memory stick. Hope that works! ^-^

Your PSP may have internal problems. I can't help you with that, sorry. I can still give you suggestions...

My Sis is better with memory cards than I am. She says that all the memory cards that you have may be faulty, straight from the manufacturer. I'm not going to ask you to buy another one, instead, look for someone who already has a memory stick pro duo that's working with a PSP and pop that into your PSP. See if you get the same problem. That's about all I can do...

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

How to downloads games PSP-1001 from PC?

To download games to your PSP You will download your PSP games from the internet into your PC and then transfer your PSP game files to your PSP using a USB cable. After your computer is connected to your PSP, your PC will recognize your PSP as a detachable memory drive (similar to an external hard drive). It will assign your PSP with a drive letter (usually F: ) which will allow you to drag and drop you PSP games file from your computer's hard drive to your PSP memory stick. Below are some of the steps to download PSP games.

Step 1: You must copy your PSP games file to the correct path or the games simply would not work. The correct path is PSP>GAME (all the folder names are in caps)

Step 2: After the PSP games are fully transferred to your memory stick, disconnect the PSP from your PC. In your PSP main menu, scroll to GAME and then select Memory Stick option. Press X, and list of available games in your memory stick will be displayed. If you find any error on your PSP, you might want to check your firmware version.

Good luck

If you have a PSP-1001 or PSP-2001, you can downgrade your psp from 6.10 with a service or pandora battery. If you have a PSP-3001 you are out of luck.

You can create a service (pandora) battery and the 'magic' memory stick from any psp-1001 already running custom firmware. You can also buy them online, and if you look in the local classified ads website where you live, you can probably find people offering a downgrading service.

I cannot run through the steps here but tutorials are all over the net and sites like youtube.

Memory Stick Pro Duo 8GB on PsP

Two possibilities.
1. The firmware on your PSP is too old to recognise the 8GB (only recognises up to 4GB).
2. If firmware is up to date you have a fake memory stick (easy way to check is to check the info for the memory stick on your PSP if its says that MAGIC GATE is unknown rather than supported then it is fake.

The fake ones typically double compress the data so that it appears to have 8GB when in reality it does not.

Memory stick does not work

Use a Card reader to format your Memory stick and then put it back to your PSP and again format. Some times the PSP wont recognise memory stick and contents in it.
