    and pci boardbrackett error
Replaced with new power supply that does not have the fan check connector on it. How can this be jumpered out to avoid this error or do I need to get a power supply with this fan connector on it?

    1) Can't boot, 2) Fan of the power supply doesn't start. 3) Got Sound from the speaker like beeps on a very fast frequency.

Hi sathya08,

This sounds like a DMA request failure. I am afraid without more information it may be difficult to accurately diagnose a cure.
I am afraid you will have to take your PC to your Local Guru.

Four beeps pc will not bootup

Hi John Jones:

1 long, 3 short beep means >>> Bad video RAM or video card not present. You need to check your RAM. Remove RAM and insert again.

If beeps are of high frequency then CPU is overheated, check you CPU fan.

Hope it works for you.

I got toshiba nb205 as i get error A PROBLEM WITH COOLING SYSTEM HAS BEEN DETECTED RETURN IT FOR SERVICE IMMEDIATLY i get its fan changed now its fan is in running condition and i am also using cooling pad...

hmmm, you could try booting into bios (hitting del key at bootup) and see what the internal temp readings are. Laptops have tricky cooling schemes that usually rely on one fan and heat pipes. If I were you I would backup my data and take it to a qualified laptop repair shop.

The fan has a third wire, that is used to tell the uProcessor that it is spinning and in some cases how fast.
Replace the fan and that should fix it. Spares form many suppliers on ebay

C300 Switches off

The Compaq C300 laptop most likely is overheating and shutting down (ie thermal overload) and will not bootup again until it has cooled down. If this is not fixed eventually the CPU will fail.
The overheating is caused by a faulty fan and/or dust clogging the heatsink and fan assembly.
Check the fan to see if it spins freely (replace the fan if it is faulty) and use a stiff brusk to loosen the dust from the fan and heatsink and vacuum the dust from the fan and heatsink.
If you remove the fan assembly from the CPU then apply fresh thermal paste to the heatsink pad before placing it over the CPU.
The laptop should be placed on a flat surface so the vents are not obstructed. You can also place the laptop on a fan assisted base to provide additional cooling.

No Video display when motherboard is turned on

Can you see some indication if the CPU is booting up. Or fan is running?

Unplugged the unit and powered down. Isolate the problem. Check first its RAM,video card, some other PCI card. reseat one by one until the system boots up.

Hp nc6000 wont bootup

hi thanks for using fixya!

On this kind of error, the only option you could do is to format your system, but if you are not so familiar in formatting your laptop, I suggest that you bring laptop to service tech, to easily perform error checking and reformatting. This error might be virus or software problems.

Thanks! hope this will enlighten you. please rate me! good luck!

Cooling System Error

It could be that the fans (and cooling vents) are dirty.
Try compressed air and a gentle vacuum.

PCI adapter did not install

I don't know how you could have installed the drivers BEFORE you installed the hardware... Shut down and UNPLUG the system; REMOVE the new PCI card, then hook up the power and boot the system back to the Desktop. Check the Device Manager to be sure you're not showing any problems; if everything seems back to normal, shut down and unplug the system a second time, then install the PCI card again, restore power, and prepare to reboot the system. Be SURE that ALL of the PCI cards are fully seated in the slots, and that the main power cable (from the PSU) is fully seated in the connector; IOW, check the system just to be sure that nothing has come loose while you've been working inside the case. Next, boot the system again; Windows SHOULD detect the new PCI card during bootup, though it might NOT request drivers, if they are already embedded within XP itself... Once you get back to the Desktop, open the Device Manager and check to be sure that the new card has been detected and properly installed. If you see any question marks, error messages, or exclamation marks, take detailed notes, and post that information here, so we can help you troubleshoot the problem... Good luck; I can only give you general advice about this, because you didn't provide any specific details about your new hardware, but with a little luck, you'll get everything working without any more heartburn...
