HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H54N 18 X DVD BURNER

Problem is when i boot the computer the dvd burner drive reads the disk after the carriage opens and closes the next time it does not read the disk. If i go to device manager and enable and disable the dvd burner it works once and the same thing happens it does not read the drive the second time. Any help will be truly appreciated.

What do you mean by not reading the disk?

When inserting a disk to the DVD drive, it runs an autorun program if one exists on the disk. By nature autorun will not run again if the disk stays in the drive. If you want to run the content of the disk, you have to execute autorun.exe from Windows Explorer. Let me know if that doesn't answer your question
