My canon powershot A590IS says change batteries

I recommend finding a higher power battery, Like a Energizer Lithium.

Mine does the same thing, only mine struggles with extending the lens upon power up too. The lens makes stuck, clicky noises, and doesn't go smoothly. I can't zoom at all, if I try, the camera shuts down. Three or four failed power ons, and I get a "change the batteries" message, even though they are fresh. They are the same batteries that used to last for ages in this camera. Any suggestions?
