Question about Tascam DP01 All-In-One Recording Package Microphone
I just purchased the TASCAM DP-01FX Digital 8-Track Port Studio x/FX Process and i was wonderin if i could get instrumentals from my computer to the tascam on two channels,if i cant do that then its useless!
Alternatively you could load your stereo instrumental track into a wav editor, then export each stereo track as a separate mono wav file which you can transfer via usb into you DP-01 and then on you DP-01 import those wav files into two separate tracks which you can pan hard left and hard right so they are in stereo.

On your PC's Sound Card, you should have a Line-Out connector (or you can use your speaker output - just use your sound card's audio adjustment tools to change this to a "Line Out").
You will need a cable from radio shack (or online) that converts the Stereo Mini (1/8") male connector into two 1/4" male connectors (unbalanced). These can be plugged into the front of the DP-01FX into the 1/4" plugs (where the Manual calls for Synthesizers/CD players).
Then, press and hold the ASSIGN key for the LEFT channel, and press the REC key for the track you want to be the LEFT channel. The REC light will flash rapidly to indicate successful routing. Do the same for the RIGHT channel. This will allow you to record instrumentals from your computer into your studio-in-a-box, and later add vocals through the mic inputs.
