-   I got the same problem about Jan 2008, error and doesn't recognize the DVD.  Amazing what a lemon Sony made and their not willing to do anything about it to satisfy the customer. -   da_kong

-   VCR works but the DVD doesn't. It worked 2 yrs. ago when my granddaughter visited us and we played 2 DVD cartoons. After that.....it didn't work anymore. We brought in a knowledgeable person this year (July/08) to check it out (the wiring, the set-up, etc.) and the DVD would not play the different discs. We are VERY DISAPPOINTED in Sony for making this lemon and we are the ones that are "out of pocket".-   Guest

-   DVD player plays all the other formats except for the DVD.

After putting in the DVD I see loading... on the TV screen and the it give error, this DVD cannot be played, Please check disc.

Does anyone has any solution to this problem.-   zia05

-   Me too! I have had trouble with the last two DVDs I tried to play. Both were brand new. It's a shame since I haven't even used the unit all that frequently.-   doubledip
