I also need to clear the fax memory on my Canon Pixma MP530, but I don't understand the recommended solution, as there is no Memory button to press on my machine. Perhaps it was generic advice, applicable to machines with Memory buttons. Is there another recommended solution that will work for this specific (MP530) machine?

I also have the same problem, I can not fax out as it says the memory is full. I have no "memory" button to press down.

Same problem we have to wait till the cardridges arrive to check if this solution works.

this isnt helpful in that if you delete all documents, the memory is still full. you have to print all reports, waste of paper and ink, plus, how do you print reports?

Solutions 3 and 4 are basically correct, they just leave out a few steps:
1. Press FAX button
2. Press buttons in following order:
Menu, + (right arrow), OK, +, +, +.
You should see Delete Document. If not, press + or - (right or left arrows) until you do.
3. It will show a document number, like 5004.
Press OK
4. It will show Yes No. Press - (left arrow) to select Yes.
5. Press OK
Note: Steps 3 and 4 may be reversed on some similar models.

Check your ink cartridges and fill any that may be low. I got that error because one of the cartridges (magenta) needed to be refilled. The printer was storing failure reports in its memory until they could be printed out, leaving no room to fax new documents. As soon as the ink cartridge was replaced, the reports printed and freed up the memory to send out faxes.

CLEAR MEMORY ON CANNON FAX MACHINE

Hi,
if you get the message MEMORY FULL to clear it just unplug the power cord for a minute or so.
But if you want to clear all machines memory, enter the service mode ( MENU and # ) select Clear and ALL.
After these you need to reenter fax settings, such as fax number, sender name, ring count,...

Hope that helps!

Can not clear memory in my canon MX850

First thing I would try is to reset the device by turning the device off, and waiting a full 20 seconds, then attempting to restart the printer, wait for it to do its full boot up cycle and then try again, if that doesn't work I might e-mail, or call Canon.

Hope this helps,

Memory full

If your brother Intelli Fax 775 says..Memory full, erase message...this is what you do. Press "menu 84" then press the fax start button. Your fax will print every fax in memory and it will clear itself. To turn off the memory so this does not happen again..Press Menu then 82, then a up or down button, so it reads "off". Then the stop/exit button, and your done.

Canon MIXPA MP530 Memory is full

I found this in a forum and I suspect it will work, remember that you'll need to clear the internal memory chip by unplugging the printer:

I got the dreaded "memory full" problem with my mp530 this morning. Couldn't FAX because the mp530 thought its memory was full even though it showed no documents in memory. The Canon site lists this symptom with a solution of 'turn off the unit, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on'. Well that didn't work, so after multiple tries I noticed a post on this board (not really related) that suggested turning off the unit, unplugging it and waiting 10 minutes -- and that did the trick.
