Temporarily adjust the thermostat setting on the refrigerator and freezer. When the refrigerator starts running, open the freezer compartment door and listen for the fan in the freezer compartment to hear if it's running.

If it's not running, you can check with a volt meter by using one volt meter probe on the common side and one volt meter probe on the hot side of the fan motor. If the fan is getting voltage but is not turning, replace the evaporator fan.You may have to remove the back panel and the bottom panel inside the freezer compartment to access the evaporator fan.

Please use care when using the volt meter. If you are not familiar with electricity, you need to have someone who is skilled in the use of a volt meter to check it for you.

Defrost problem. Most likely the defrost heater or defrost thermostat.

GE Profile PFSF5NJW French door Bottom freezer. Freezer is fine. Refrigerator at 60 degrees. Unplugged for two days to thaw any possible freeze up. Refrige still at 60 degrees.

If that is what happened after plugging back in still no change in temperature I recommend you call someone you can trust. Trust is about asking too much these days. You refrigerator does not need to run at all until I or someone can find the problem. If someone there would like the challenge and knows how to use a multi-meter let me know. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Warm refrigerator

Check the freezer fan.
Is it running?
If not, replace fan motor.
Check the damper doors in the fresh food side.
Does air flow through?

Frezzer is fine but fridge is warm

See if cold air is coming out of the air diffuser top-back freezer side of fridge. A common problem is a bad air diffuser assembly. Sometimes it may freeze closed and break when it tries to cycle. The freezer usually works fine.
