The lense is stuck inside. - Casio Exilim EX-S600 Digital Camera

Hi your camera is very simply in mechanically. It may has loosen screws go around and stuck inside. If you are careful, you can try on open and look for the piece. If you are willing to, then let me know. Thanks and best regard!

these lenses are made with mostly plastic parts to reduce cost. if the lens was bumped on the front it is common to break the cams that move the lens in and out, unfortunately it is more cost to repair versus replace. there should be nothing "loose" inside the lens

Hi! Better check it with qualified technecian. It might damage everything if you force it. The lense broke inside. It needs to be replaced or adjust the screw to lossen so that lens will go back to its original position.

If you are unable to maximize the zoom capabalities of your lens, the mechanical gears might have been jammed and or broken. Do not push it if it won't let you as you might break the lense. What you can do is to bring it to your local camera shop or service center to have it fixed.

If the lens is stuck out then you will find it is usually one of a few reasons.

1. Check the batteries. (obvious I know).
2. The camera has been dropped or knocked.
3. The camera has grit or dirt in the lens mechanism.

Providing the batteries are ok then 2 and 3 usually mean a professional repair. The lenses tend not to be something that the average home user can remove and take apart. The cost of repair also might be more than the camera value so you will need to find a good repair shop near you and get a quote.

There;s an stuck up on the mechanical gear inside cause of sudden outage of battery, i don't really advice this but try to soft slap on the device just to make that disalign gear back on.

I had a similar problem with a Fuji E550. The power button on the camera was pressed while it was INSIDE the carrying case and the lense jammed agaist the inside of the case. It would not move and the camera would not function until this was cleared.

DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
A camera 'expert' suggested that I twist the lense to it's fully extended position while the camera is turned off. I must say it did grind a bit while I did this and left me feeling a bit queezy.

But, once I turned the camera on the lense returned to it's normal 'start' position, closed once I powered off the camera, and has worked ever since.

If you aren't comfortable doing this (and I wouldn't blame you if that were the case) you'll need to take it into a camera shop for repair.

Your digital signal processor is bad or your lense shutter is stuck on the inside. A stuck lense can be fixed by replacing the lense barrel. Check out Camera Shy Anna on Ebay stores. They can fix your digital camera.

I tossed the lens out at the recommendation of a local repair shop.

if you feel that the camera is making effort to extend the lense out and the lense is still jammed, get the help of a repairer.
