I have a Dell Latitude D600. It will not charge from the charging port in back. It will charge while on the dock. There is always a flashing error code, I assume, on the charging LED. It flashes 4 red and 1 green in fast succession, continuously, as long as the computer is on. Can you tell me what part, or board, of the computer needs to be replaced or repaired? Thanks, Don
Don- I went to Dell support and without knowing a service tag #, I looked your laptop generically. Here's a link to your owners manual: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/latd600/en/ug/index.htm The only thing I could find about "light error codes" was in the solving problems category. I read something that said your battery/laptop is too hard to charge. I replaced the motherboard recently in a friends d800 because the power jack had got pushed in and dislodged from the motherboard, then wouldn't charge the battery. Although she had no error codes OR a docking station. You said you replaced the battery and the cord. Did the new battery/charger ever work right? if no, why didn't you take it back? Is it still under warranty? Without more info, best I could come up with. Hope this helps and good luck.If I helped please rate me. Thanks -jmattes
