You need to go to www.apple.com/itunes and download this program. I'm not sure what disk you are talking about because ipods don't come with disks anymore.

How do i download music on shuffle

Thank you for contacting FixYa Support.

To download music onto your iPod Shuffle you first need to make sure you have the music and media Application from Apple Inc, called iTunes downloaded and installed onto your computer first.

Here is the link for downloading iTunes, which is also a free download by the way.

Download iTunes (for Mac or PC)

Once iTunes has been successfully downloaded and installed on your computer, simply connect your iPod
Shuffle via USB cable to your computer (if you have not already done so) and iTunes in moments will recognize your Shuffle.

Next, click on the link below to review the easy to follow video guide on how to download music onto an iPod Shuffle:

Ipod shuffle 2nd gen problem

Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with iPod shuffle. Try
these steps one at a time until the problem is resolved. If one of the following doesn’t
help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
Reset iPod shuffle by turning it off, waiting five seconds, and then turning it back on
again.
Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod shuffle in iTunes.
Restart your computer, and make sure you have the latest software updates
installed.
Reinstall iTunes software from the latest version on the web.

If the status light blinks orange when you press a button, the iPod shuffle buttons are
disabled. Press and hold Play/Pause (’) for about three seconds, until the status light
blinks green.
Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer. Your iPod shuffle
battery may need to be recharged.
Turn iPod shuffle off, wait five seconds, and then turn it on again.
You may need to restore iPod shuffle software

IPod shuffle 1st gen. Not Recognized By PC

Try a different USB port first. Here are some other suggestions:
Connect iPod shuffle to a high-power USB port on your computer. iPod shuffle may
need to be recharged.
â Make sure you have installed the latest iTunes software from
www.apple.com/ipod/start.
â Try connecting to a different USB port on your computer. Make sure iPod shuffle is
firmly seated in the dock. Make sure the USB connector is oriented correctly. It can be
inserted only one way.
â iPod shuffle might need to be reset. Turn iPod shuffle off, wait five seconds, and then
turn it back on again.
â If there is no status light (or the status light is dimmed) and iPod shuffle doesn’t
appear in iTunes or the Finder, the battery may be completely discharged. Let
iPod shuffle charge for several minutes to see if it comes back to life.
â Make sure you have the required computer and software. See “If you want to doublecheck
the system requirements” on page 25.
â Try restarting your computer.
â If none of the previous suggestions solves the problem, you might need to restore
iPod software. See “Updating and Restoring iPod shuffle Software” on page 26.
â If restoring iPod shuffle doesn’t solve the problem, iPod shuffle may need to be
repaired. You can arrange for service on the iPod shuffle Service & Support website at
www.apple.com/support/ipodshuffle/service.

Cant get shuffle to work when not conected to pc

How long have you had the unit? If it's been a year and a half or 2 years your battery needs to be replaced. They loose their ability to retain a charge in that time frame, and when you test a good battery or a bad battery they will both read 3.6v as a tester does not put a load on the battery, meaning you have 3.6v when the unit is off but when it turns on (load) it drops to zero. You could also try resseting the unit, to do so follow these instructions. To reset iPod shuffle: Disconnect iPod shuffle from the computer (if connected). Move the switch on the back of iPod shuffle to the off position. Tip: When iPod shuffle is off, the green stripe by the switch is not visible. Wait 5 seconds. Move the switch on the back to the play in order or the shuffle position. The green stripe will be visible in either position. iPod shuffle is now reset. If after resetting iPod shuffle you are going to attach it to your computer, be sure to place the switch in the off position. If you were resetting as part of some troubleshooting steps, continue with those steps now. For general troubleshooting steps see the iPod shuffle troubleshooting and service FAQ. My ipod shuffle usb is not being read by any computers

Never discount the possibility of a simple poor electrical connection (or a busted usb plug on the shuffle - you didnt yank at it, did you?)

Try to swab out the inside of the usb plug on the shuffle.. 99% rubbing alchohol is best. A qtip might fit, if squashed a bit
