Like several others here, the screen of my panasonic DMC FX8 is extremely dim - doesn't respond to a reset, to playing with power/economy settings, or adjusting the screen brightness. In very bright, non-glare light, I can just see picture/menus, so I know it's not totally dead.
Any ideas what I can do?
We had same problem with this camera at work - like another poster has commented, we unscrewed the back casing, lifted it and put it together again - lit up again good as new! must be a faulty connection somewhere. Hopefully it's a permanent fix.
The problem on mine is with the stupid little 4-way ribbon cable to the LCD back-light. Where it folds over to turn through a right angle it fatigues and eventually breaks. Damn silly design on an otherwise really good camera!
Anyone know where to source the back-light only? It unclips from the back of the LCD really easily - I just need a new one.
