Type "repair smps" into google then, and please press the "caps lock" button on your keyboard. No need to shout, unless you are standing next to a diesel generator and can't hear yourself type.

Output comes on when powered on but turns off immediately

First remove rams and reinsert.

its the problem with your smps. Check with some other smps to your system otherwise use this smps to connect to some other system. If that system working fine with this smps. then may be there is some problem in your motherboard.

Computer won't power up

Make off power.
Remove the RAM.
Check the beepcode occurs or not.
If beepcode is long then RAM DEFECTIVE.
===> Erase to polish contacts of RAM with soft white presto eraser.
If beepcode not sound, open Processor and recheck. same.
If again negative, just short green and black wire of SMPS after opening from motherboard. SMPS must start and check all voltages. If not start SMPS Defective.

Please give your feedback so that further repaire can be made.

First remove smps power suply unit box from cpu.
Then ground pin and check is it on you have to ground 4-5 pin blck and green.
Then if it is on then smps is ok.then pull cmos cell from motherbord for 10 minutes make sure cmos cell give voltage.Remove pci cards from pci slot is any.

Power on is ok but when switch off not ok

They are lightly loaded and WILL take time to bleed off the charge on the caps.

Also switching power supplies MUST have a load on them or they MAY overvoltage.

450W ATX SMPS of Intex

sir all smps can be reapired using indian jugar technique. first of all see twi diods under the burnt transistors check them they are short then check the capacitors if they are not leaky or pregnant then see bridge reactifier change all that looks short or open then replace all and the transistors with 13007 transistors(jugad) be careful that 13007 must be isolated from heat sink that means metal part must be fixed to them but not short to them . replace the fuse with 2 ampere fuse (for safety) ..... have fun

Maximum output of any smps is not based solely on the type of power switching transistors used. One of the parameters which will be crucial is the Ic (Max collector current rating). But this by itself isn't the lone determining factor either.

Other design factors which will come into play are the switching transformer, its size and windings. A smaller transformer and smaller wire gauge windings will generally mean lower max power output.

Max power output measurements probably require a set of load resistors, volt and amp meters, monitoring the 3.3, 5, 12 volt lines.

I'm not an engineer, but have had numerous computer power supplies apart, repairing some, junking some. Quality of construction or lack thereof is generally obvious. PC Power and Cooling probably builds high quality units. There are plenty of cheap, low cost power supplies which frequently die after a year or two, sometimes taking a motherboard down with it.
