Question about Coby MP-C582 MP3 Player
My computer won't recognize my Mp3 player, well it does but theres some type of error. I have windows xp. It recognizes that a "mtp device" and then says a "mtp player" soon after. When I pressed install software automatically,it tells me that it has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows xp. Then I pressed continue anyway. I've done this a few times and It still has not worked. I even downloaded that windows 98 driver just to try it out but that didn't help.
I appriciate any help you can give me.
I had the same problem, apparently if u have windows media player 11, that wont work so u have to uninstall windows media player 11 and its its runtime format and then install windows media player 10, that should do the trick, now the only problem is getting it to be recognized as a USB mass storage device and not a MTP device so that it can be used

Are you using a USB1 or a USB2 connection for the device. I found that on my older computer which still utilizes USB1 I had the same problem but on my newer PC utilizing USB2 it was recognized correctly and I had access to all the folders. Both PCs run XP.
