Question about HP Business Notebook NX9110 Notebook
I have a problem with the display of my laptop as it just dimmed off one day and never came back. I am using an external monitor and the laptop seems to work ok but its display is very dark and the backlight is not working. I took it to two guys who thought it was an inverter or something problem but it still didn't work. Please also note that some time after this the computer suddenly would not start up and was taken for repair.
What do you think ?
Thanks and Happy new Year.
Well the most common problem in this series is a bad inverter.
If you remember your LCD being RED tinted before it went dark, then the backlight has failed. Backlight replacement is typically $150-$200. But I see 15" LCD screens in good used shape for $80-$160. There are multiple LCDs on your laptop and we would need the exact part number off the back of the screen to give you an idea what to search for.
If you still suspect the inverter, the nx9000 series are the same as the presario 2100 and 2500, as well as pavilion 4000 and 5000 series. They are NOT the same as DV4000, DV5000 or V2000 inverters can be had for $20-$40.
I would hit up ebay there are tons of parts there for these.
