Problem for ASUS P5VD2-MX SE Motherboard

Computer either reboots after 1 hour or less. Sometimes it stays on for a bit longer. If not the screen goes black but the computer is still on. Also there is a cable that is disconnected but I have no idea where I'm supposed to plug it. It's connected to one of the hard drives.

- Is it normal for the drives to get very hot in a short amount of time? Also about the screen going black but the computer is still on can it a problem with graphic card? I can't afford to have fixed that's why I'm here...Oct 17, 2009

Is is not the issue with cable, if machine comes up without that cable, which means this cable is not mandatory. This issue may be due to memory or any loos contact in motherboard also. You can swap your system momory and see. IF you are not technically well, get some help from skilled person.
If your drive is going very hot withing a short time period, that may the reasone of this issue. You have to check the SMPS volatages are ok
And, if possible chek your drive on other machine how it perform with heat
And you can discunnect the drive and keep the machine in CMOS (without booting) for long time and watch
