Yes. The outer paint on your fan motor gets heated up first time and when new it does give off some kind of smell. But after a few hours of use the smell should disappear. Smell can come from the winding also.

I have a Hunter fan that's about 1.5 years old, installed by pros when house was built, and no previous problems with the fan. Fan has wall switch for lights and wall switch for fan. A few days ago...

All is well with your fan. Light bulbs sometimes will blow with a surge of power. This happens to everyone. If you feel uncomfortable with the 60 watt go for 40 watt. It will be less bright however. No need to worry about the fixture catching on fire

We had the Hunter fan installed in April and have been very pleased with its performance. About a week ago whenever you turn on the fan light it flickers nonstop. Can you help me?

this is caused by the watt governor or the black box in fan to the lights. remove the watt governor and wire the lights directly. when removed, hook white wire to white wire, and black wire to red wire. black and red wires are always the hot wires. governor part number- 98480-02, have a good day !!

We purchased the Hunter Ceiling fan over a year ago and it has worked fine up until a couple of weeks ago. When we turn on the light it just continuously blinks on and off.

there is a watt governor, or black box for the lights to cut down on wattage or energy use. you can remove the black box for the lighting, and wire it directly to the main wires. white wire to white wire, and black wire to red wire. black and red are always a hot wire and white is a neutral wire. the part number on black box should be 98480-02. this should stop the lights from blinking. have a good day !

There's a strong smell (fumes) coming from the printer. I felt high the first day and I had a funny feeling in my throat on one side. Some say it smells like a hot blow dryer or burning smell. I need to...

The odor is coming from what is called the 'fuser' which heats and bonds the toner to the paper stock. There may be some light residue from the manufacture of the fuser roller which is heated to a high temperature to enable the fusing to take place. It may linger for several days but is unlikely to be hazardous in nature otherwise Samsung wouldn't allow it to remain on the assembly. Laser printers often smell 'hot' due to this process but I have not heard of any hazard caused by fumes. One caveat though; the fuser roller is coated with Teflon or an equivalent coating. I nearly died from Teflon which was in a gaseous state many years ago but it was exposed to temperatures of greater than 450F which is dangerous since the effect is that of a nerve gas called phosgene. Since that is a temperature one can easily reach on a stove-top, we have NO coated cookware in our home.
If you notice that the plastic near the warmest place on your machine feels uncommonly hot, it might be best to shut it down since it may be possible for the thermostatic control to fail so the fuser is heated to an abnormally high temperature. I'm fairly sure there is a thermal fuse to prevent catastrophic failure but wouldn't count on it.

Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.

Hunter humidifer

I dont know why your humidifier is spitting water out.

But it sounds like you need to clean the unit and install a new filter. Once the filter becomes used, the humidifier won't work as well. Less water will be used because the clogged filter can't hold as much. Once you replace the filter, your water consumption should go back up and you should feel a difference in your home again.

Good Luck.
