step 1: restart windows
step 2: while its booting up press F8 (if you see a black screen that says windows and a green loading bar apears you waited to long)
step 3: you will be prompted for how to start up_press ~start windows in safe mode~
step 4: type in administrator and log in (hopefully your settings allow you to type in the username if thats not set you have to go into the computer profile settings<explained later in this letter>)

if you are talking about the log on password for windows xp, when booting up, right before the windows XP logo comes up and it shows that its loading, press F8 like 3 times every second till a screen with writing comes up. If unsuccessful, keep trying, it should come up in 2 - 3 tries. Choose to boot in Safe Mode. when the logging screen comes up, log on Administrator. When logged on, go into control panel - user accounts - click on the account you want to remove password from and remove it. Restart PC, log in to the account, and that's it.
What did you mean about the start logo, is it the desktop you mean to be. T change that you just right click the computer screen then chose the properties, now you can see a diagram just click the desktop, after you click the desktop, there are many icons, at the left side you can see the scroll bar there, you can select the picture you want to be a screen saver of your desktop, sthat what you mean, or i am wrong.
to avoid this problem you run in safe mode option to your system.to run in safe mode follow the step... restart the system and then press on start F8 key from keyboard then choose safe mode option... your windows has corrupted. so you can also restore the system in previous date.....further detail on live chat
You can try logging in as administrator. As the computer starts up press 'F8' to get into the boot options and select 'Safe Mode with Networking". Click on the administrator login, the password is blank unless you set one during installation. Once in windows you can modify the user accounts in control panel.
Note: If you have never used "F8" to get to the boot menu before the timing is a bit tricky. If you see the windows logo you are too late. Try pressing "F8" several times instead of just holding it down
