Re: memory card

Make shure the SD card isn't damaged, also make shure your SD card is SD not SD-HC.

Memory slot not working?

I would first check the memory card in another device. Cards do go bad. If the memory card is good, then the camera may need repair.

Have new Vivitar DVR810HD Digital Video Camcorder, loaded SD card correctly but camera does not record onto SD card Help!

Make sure that the video camcorder was not turned off immediately after recording before the images are saved in memory. Also be sure that your memory card is properly inserted in your camera.

Inserted memory card into camera and does not read

First make sure that the SD card's lock switch is not in the lock position on the card. This camera allows for both SD and SDHC so as long as the card you are using isn't over 32GB then it hsould work. There is a version of SD called SDXC (Secure Digital Extended Capacity) and these are over 32GB and will not work in your camera. Lastly you may have to format the card in the camera before it will be recognized; this is usually requested by the camera upon inserting the memory card. So the main step would be to make sure the "Lock" mechanism on the SD memory card itself is not engaged. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for visiting

When taking pics the screen says :check cards write protection switch : what does that mean?

Take out memory card from camera and check its side, you will see tiny tab, slide it to unlock position and insert memory card in camera to store fresh pictures in memory card.

When I turn on my Jazz DV 152/ T20 it displays "Read card..." and then nothing happens...I have a 4GB SDHC card by SanDisk...both camera and card are this a faulty camera or am I doing something...

Usually the first thing you need to do with any SD card and Camera is to go into the settings of the your camera and Format the SD card. This has to be done for each memory card you use with that camera. i.e. a SD card formatted on a Panasonic HD camcorder won't work in your Jazz Camcorder. The formatting is different between the two camcorders. New SD cards don't come formatted.
SO try inserting the SD card into your Jazz Cam and rummage through the setting until you find your memory settings. From there find the Format Memory Card function, format the SD Card and you should be good to go.

First check the memory card to see if the lock tab is in the UNLOCK position. On the top left of the memory card is a slide the moves up and down. The slide should be in the up position for it to be unlocked. A locked memory card could cause the camera to read a CARD PROTECT error message.
If you still receive an error message, verify that you are inserting the card correctly so that the spring locks in as you fully insert it. When performed correctly an Icon will appear in the lower right hand corner of the LCD screen. Also try inserting the card while the camera is on.
The memory card may also need to be formatted through the camera’s settings-- Note: Formatting will delete all files, so be sure to transfer any important files to your computer before doing so
To Format: Insert the memory card into the camera and press the mode button to get to the mode screen. Enter into Tools/SETTINGS and find FORMAT. Once you select format you will receive a YES or NO option. Select YES and you will see a FORMATTING message. Once the formatting is complete, see if the camera reads the card and functions properly

Shut down

You may have damaged the memory card not the camera. Try the card in a card reader and also a different card in the camera.

Good luck
