Makes a shrieking noise about once a revolution

My Kenmore dryer makes a shrieking noise about once a revolution when drying. How do I take off the outer cover to inspect the inside, And what would cause the shriek? It has been getting steadily louder over the last couple of loads. I seem to be able to move the tumbler in and out, so I think it may be the rollers, but I won't be able to tell until I get the outer cover off. Thanks!

To get to the insides, you'll need to take the front off. Depending on the model, if may have snap clips to hold the top down- check the front two corners to see if you can lift the up. That will expose the screws that hold the front on. OR you may look at the front kick plate of the front panel, as there may be two retaining screws holding the panel on... if so remove the screws and tilt the front panel up until it releases.
Either way, after the front is off, you can take the front panel off the drum and then the drum should be able to be moved forward enough to check the rollers. Also check the belt tensioning pulley and the belt condition.

Maytag Model SDG3606AWW slow to start, shrieks when running

T"he sound you are hearing is coming from the blower wheel. This is located in the front of the machine and can be accessed by removing the front of the machine, Getting the front off varies machine to machine, Once the front is off, you'll see the blower wheel in the front, and once again some models you may have to remove exhaust vent, in others just the cover of the blower wheel. This is an easy repair, no doubt. The part number is 56000

I have a kenmore 417 stacked washer and dryer that works but the dryer is slow to dry and the washer makes a squealing noise. what can i do to fix both?

Hello there Brian and welcome to fixya
Slow drying is a fairly common issue with dryers that are a few years old the most commmon problems is due to the following
Please check each one of these very close ok
Vent Frequently there's an obstruction in the vent duct from the dryer to the outside of the house. For the dryer to heat properly, the duct must be clean and clear of lint or any other substance. Heating element Your dryer's heating element may be partially burned out. If it is, your dryer still heats, but at such a low temperature that it takes three or four times as long to dry the clothes. If the element is partially burned out, replace it. To determine if the heating element is burned out, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page. Internal ductwork Your dryer has some internal ductwork. If it gets clogged, your dryer can't dry properly. In most dryers, to get to the internal ductwork to clear the clog, you have to substantially disassemble the dryer. A quick way to check for internal clogs is to remove the lint filter and use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the duct. If it looks clogged and you can't clear it using your vacuum, contact a qualified appliance repair technician. Cycling thermostat Although this isn't a common problem, one of the thermostats that controls the temperature in your dryer may break and cause the dryer to heat poorly. If so, you need to replace it. The thermostat is usually a small, round, black device mounted to an oblong steel plate. The plate is mounted to the internal ductwork with two screws.

Kenmore elite he3 dryer

Some coins or other objects may have fallen down in to the blower housing. Unplug the dryer. The Front lower cover has 2 screws holding the outer panel on. There are several screws in the blower housing.

Kenmore dryer help?

Sounds like motor is stalled. Remove the lint filter, look inside down toward the bottom left corner at the blower wheel. Something may be jammed in the blower wheel. If difficult to see, TURN OFF POWER TO MACHINE, remove bottom access panel. 2 to 3 screws on bottom of panel. Remove lint housing (3 to 4 screws) and inspect blower wheel for debris.

LG ELECTRIC DRYER

Henry, its going to be 1 of 2 things. Check inside your drum, see if the vent in the rear has burning or discoloration around it. If it does, it sounds as if your vent is restricted causing the unit to overheat, so clean/fix/replace the venting and your support pulleys will need to be repalce ie flat spots from overheat. If there is no scoarching marks and you know its not the vent or heat issue, the drum seam may have parted causing the thump as every revolution is made.
