Question about Insignia IS 20" TV040919 TV
I think my daughter changes the password on our Insignia IS-TV040919. Is there anyway to reset the password to factory default?
OK. I fixed it!
I'm not sure 100% what did it, but think you'll get it to work with the following.
I followed the instructions on how to get the TV set into "test" mode, that were posted by Rotareneg:
(I found these instructions at a couple of sites)
I think that just putting it into test mode resets the password to the default, '000000'. However, I pressed a lot of other buttons while I had the controller open. The only setting I changed (and then put back) while in test mode was on Menu 1. I changed the Program value, which turned out to be just changing the channel.
At some point I realized that I could get all my channels, however, I found that all settings were reset default, including antenna reception vs cable. I change all back and did a celebration dance.
