Re: belkin router not working

Are there no leds when you power up the router? If there are no leds make sure the 110 volt circuit the router is plugged into is not tripped. If you have leds try holding in the reset button on the back of the router with a paperclip the botton is a small hole located by the internet/wlan port, hold for 10-15 seconds this resets the router to factory defaults. My New belkin N+N router doesn't connect directly to computer. It keeps blinking amber color. I am totally dumb at computers please help me. Previous one Belkin N+ works well.

Did you install the software BEFORE you plugged in the router? If not, uninstall and reisntall the software before plugging in the router and see if that solves the problem.

I have a embarq 660 series router and using a compaq presario computer. I have already installed the belkin surf/share wireless USB adapter to this laptop. When I go to Internet explorer it says offline.

your problem is a IP address conflict

Embarq and Belkin have the same IP address

change the IP address in to your Router.

To restore the router to factory default settings, please do the following:
1. Unplug the router's power supply
2. Press and hold the reset button on the bottom of the router
3. Keep the reset button depressed and, at the same time, plug the power supply back in
4. Keep the reset button depressed for another 10 seconds
5. Release the reset button

I accidentally kicked the power plug out of my 360 and now the wireless adapter only stays red and won't connect! is it dead? tried restarting the router and modem but, no luck.

its microsoft!!!!!!!!!! bugs galore!!!!!!!! unplug the wireless adapter while the xbox is off.........turn the xbox back on and let it load with the ethernet plugged in...turn the system off using the control after you have established a connection the the network......unplug the ethernet and reinstall the wireless....turn it back on and let it still might not work in which case you will have to power cycle one more time.........and oh yeah, check in your setting to make sure wireless adapters are activated...

First of all you have a wireless "N" adaptor running on a router set for 802.11g. You need to have the same router as the adaptor, "N".

Belkin G+ adapter connects to G+ MIMO Modem router,No Internet?

This sounds like your modem is storing the MAC address. There are 2 things you can try. 1 try unplugging the modem for about 5 mins and then plug it back in. If your modem has a battery backup you will need to also pull the battery out for those 5 mins.
Option 2 - Contact your internet provider and have them do a reset on the modem so that it will allow a new MAC address to be stored in the modem.

Wireless adapter used to work, then stopped, then worked again, now can't be detected...

you mean that the adapter is not being recognised by the pc as a usb device, this adapter works better on a usb2.0 port, not as well on a usb1.0 port, depending on how old your pc is, try other ports., but you must uninstal the belkin driver from add/remove programmes, then install the driver again and inset adapter in a different usb port than before.

the adapter should then be found and click install driver automatically, but leave the cd in the drive as it normally picks the driver up again from the disk on it's own even after installing it yourself.

When installed i would recommend using windows wireless zero configuration (windows own software) instead of the belkin software, to do this right click on the network icon and select enable WZC (windows zero config), as this is a more stable programme for connecting your adapter signal to the router

Personally Belkin is poor in my opinion, netgear has better software and drivers, but it's belkin you have, so follow the above and it should be ok.
