I have an 80GB iPod video and windows XP. I have had the iPod for a few months and it was working fine, untill a few days ago when all of a sudden it was no longer recognized by my computer. I plug it into the USB port on the front of my computer and a note pops up saying that "USB Device Not Recognized". I can no longer even charge my iPod from the computer (*i must plug into my speakers to charge). Also, I recently started having the same troubles with my printer. This is all very distressing and confusing because, i have a Verizon Wireless cell phone that i can still plug into the same port and download music to. Can someone please help me!!
I have the seem probleme since i have installed a new firmware somone know where to find the original firmware ?

Good luck!

Bought a new ipod classic last week and it was working fine until last night. Now w hen I plug it into the usb port the computer will not recognize the device I have tried resetting the ipod but that doesnt help
My sons 80gb video ipod is not being recognized by windows or ITunes. Was working fine and then just suddenly is not being recognized. I have had 3 tech calls with Apple to no avail. Have tried all five "R"'s (except restore since ITunes will not recognize the IPod). Tech support said only option was to send back and pay $180 for replacement.
Strange thing is the 80gb classic video ipod I bought my other son for Christmas is being recognized just fine on the same comptuer.
Does anybody have any suggestions? (Tried ipod on another computer and it also will suddenly not recognize it)
