Camera won't retrack (by 2 users)

My camera won’t re track. I have put in new batters .It wont turn on most of the time and when it do turn on it wont take a picture and it wont re track. Can you help me the camera is about two years old? It is a fine Pix A350. My E-Mail address is doodlehyde@juno.com

My daughter has a Fuji E510 and the lens will not retract. I tried new batteries and not happens.

August - this sounds like the same problem I had with my Finepix510. Turns out the new unopened package of batteries I put in weren't fresh enough and weren't working. When I got truly fresh batteries, everything started working just fine again.
