SOURCE: Digital camera got dropped into

THIS SOUNDS TERMINAL, BUT YOU MIGHT TRY USING CANNED AIR LIKE YOU USE TO BLOW DUST OUT OF YOUR COMPUTER, AND SEE IF IT HELPS ANY. MOST OF THESE CAMERAS ARE MADE WITH THE IDEA THAT THEY WILL NEVER BE TAKEN APART OR OPENED FOR CLEANING ETC. SO, THAT IS THE ONE PROBLEM YOU ARE FACING. I DOUBT IF IT WOULD BE WORTH SPENDING THE MONEY TO SEND IT IN TO BE CLEANED. THAT CAN GET VERY EXPENSIVE IN A HURRY, PLUS TAKE A GOOD MONTH OR MORE FOR THE REPAIR. SORRY, I CAN'T HAVE MORE CHEERY NEWS, BUT THINGS LIKE THIS JUST AREN'T TAKEN INTO ACCORD WHEN THEY MAKE THESE CAMERAS. IF I CAN HELP MORE JUST REPLY TO:

SOURCE: Panasonic Lumix camera, DMC FS5

HAHA, I just solved the problem on my camera.

The problem is that the focus has gone "to far" and lost connection to the cogwheel, This is noticed by listening to the camera when it starts up. I gently tapped the camera lens-down against my thigh when the lens came out in it's outermost position.
This made the cogwheel reconnect to the motor and focus was obtained again. Now the camera works fine again.

I would recommend that you take a cleaning cloth between the lens and your leg when doing this to minimize the chance of scratching the lens.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Lumix DMC-FX01 Buttons not working

Remove the card and battery. Clean the battery contacts inside camera with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Be sure battery is charged. Press all buttons on camera. Insert card and then the battery. See if it works. If you can now get into the setup menu, you can do a reset from the menu.

In Chile just bought a camera Lumix DMC FZ70, zooming only works in automatic mode AI in the other modes only works zoom 1 to 3x, please indicate what should I do

Zoom 1x to 3x sounds like the limits of optical zoom. The other zoom option may be digital zoom, which merely interpolates pixels to give the impression of a larger picture, and, as you reach the limit of the zoom, the picture quality may be so degraded that the image is unusable.

I have a Panasonic DMC-LX2 digital camera, I'm based in the UK. Has worked fine for a couple of years, but 2 weeks ago, when powered up, none of the buttons work. Screen is illuminated, lens emerges OK,...

I just got identical situation today, and I have no clue at all. However, I figure that the camera is actually working busy like someone is holding the "UP" button continuously. To see this, power on your camera at any mode except the "Scene mode". After it's on, turn the mode select knob to "Scene mode". I saw my camera menu flashing like crazy. When you press any button, the menu should stop running. But once you don't press the button, the menu start running again.
Please let me know if you have any update.

My panasonic dmc-lz6 wont turn on

Replace batteries with new ones or recharge them if they are rechargeable.
If this operation won't help, then check the objective, because it could be jamed or blocked - in this case the LCD shows a message:"You should turn off and on the camera!" Something like that.

The view screen is black and you can't see what you're taking the pic. Battery is ok

If camera shows Menu item or any on-screen display in LCD but no live view to take picture then it can be either aperture problem or defective ccd imager.
And if you do not see any display icon in LCD then of course LCD section is bad or LCD back light is Off for some reason. Try to see faint image in LCD if it is totally blank by pointing good amount of light with flash light or some thing.

Lumix DMC- FZ30 - screen is black when camera is turned on

Check if you have activated the Electronic Viewfinder (EVF). Press the EVF/LCD button to switch to the LCD screen. If this fails to solve the problem, change the mode dial to Auto (the red camera icon) or 'P' and try again. If even this does not work, check with the nearest authorized service center.
