Device won't resync

The other day I turned on my player and all of the songs had been deleted. My play lists were still there, they just had no songs in them. I plugged it back into my computer to resync allllll my songs again and it got about half way through then stopped and said the sync had failed.

From that point on I could not get my computer to recognize the device. I looked at the "device manager" in the control panel and it shows that the "MTP" is connected but it says that the device cannot start. My player turns on and lets me scroll through everything, it just won't "start" so my computer can resync it.

I tried un installing the device and re-installing it but I still get the same message that the device cannot be started. I also put the CD-ROM back in to see if the drivers needed to be updated but it said I had all the current things. Please help!!!!

Same issue here I purchase a new sync cord as well and reinstalled the software.. plus I tried to reset the player.. Love the unit but right now I cannot add or remove songs from the unit. When I plug it in the sound is an odd one like a daadada as opposed to a dada. I know the sounds can be configured but these are the default setting so I am suposing that the connection as a USB device is getting an "error"

When i plugged the MP3 player in, i tried troubleshooting with simply plugging into multiple PC's with no lucky. i went into device manager and discovered a run time error (10) "the device cannot start" and i cant seem to figure the problem out. i have tried USB 1.0 and 2.0, i have tried different ports and PC's and unless the software on the MP3 play can be reset i am at a stand still. does anyone have a simple solution?

· Make sure you have media player 11
· If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
· Download recovery tool off creative's website.
· go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them

· Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix
If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable

then upgrade to latest firmware

Try this solution...

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Connect/Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release,
right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
BE CAREFUL and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.

No license to play/sync license from PC - Zen Creative V Plus

Try putting the songs on your PC if they are not there already. Delete all the songs from your Zen, then reload them.

I need to remove 4mb from my sansa clip

Plug it in to your computer.
Open your Windows Media Player
Choose Copy to CD or Device
On the top right of WMP 9 you will see a drop down menu that lists various devices.
Choose your Sansa Player from the list.
You will then see a list of songs on the player.
4 MB is about about 1-2 songs I suppose.
You should be able to select and delete them simply by right clicking and deleting from the play list.

You could clear all the songs from your player (so long as you have them in your library)
and choose some new ones!

Good luck.

All music subscription such as napster and rhapsody requires you to sync your device every single month. The reason is to prevent customer from cancelling their music subscription..once you cancel your membership all the songs you have on your device will become useless. In another word, you are renting the music...I dont know if you are asking how to to remove all the songs from your device..but if thats the case you can do that in 3 different ways you can do that..you can format your device..that options will completely remove all the songs from your device..and to do that you can open up your windows media player ...assuming that you have version 11..click on sync and your device will be listed and click format..
The seconds option ,you have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there.
Either under sync4.gif panel in your windows media player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete.
Hope4.gif this helps4.gif

P.S.Please rate accordingly...
Thank You

No license to play/sync license from PC - Zen Creative V Plus

Start up Window Media player on your computer. Plug your Zen device into the computer. Wait until you see it listing in WMP. Unplug the Zen and see if you can play the songs.
The licenses on the device should be updated by WMP when you plug in the device

Can't delete songs

Try turning the player off and then back on once - let the player update. If that fails, resync the Philips with Windows Media Player. Make sure the automatic sync option is disabled, or all the songs you deleted will be put back onto the player.

How can I delete things that show up on my mp3 but not on my computer?

You probably have your Windows Media Player set up for AUTOMATIC instead of MANUAL synchronization. When this option is selected,Windows Media Player will add EVERY song, picture, etc from your Library on your computer to the GoGear. Now, every time you sync you device, it adds every new file from your computer into the GoGear automatically.

Here's what you want to do (this process assumes you have Windows Media Player 11 and windows XP - if you have another version, just let me know and I will give you modified instructions - reply to the FixYa website, not to my personal e-mail address):
1) Backup all files stored on your GoGear, as this process will delete all files from your GoGear
2) Go into Windows Media Player 11 with your GoGear connected to the computer (it will automatically sync and add new files one last time), move the mouse cursor over to the sync tab; a small black arrow will appear under the word "Sync"; click on the small black arrow and a dropdown menu will appear; select "Portable media device" from the dropdown menu, and another dropdown menu will appear; select "Set Up sync"; a window will appear with some information on your device - uncheck the box that says "Sync this device automatically"; click Finish; This will eliminate the problem of Windows always adding songs/files you don't want into your player.

As for some files not being viewable, try simply disconnecting the GoGear from the computer and resyncing with Windows Media Player. sometimes files will be displayed multiple times, and a simple resyncing will cure the problem. Otherwise:
You must use Windows Media Player to delete songs from the GoGear. With your GoGear connected to the PC, you want to highlight (single left click) the icon of the GoGear (or line that says Philips GoGear blah blah blah) on the left hand side of Windows Media Player 11 - this will ensure that you are deleting files from the GoGear itself, and not the computer. Once the GoGear line is highlighted, click on the "Songs" or "Album" folder underneath the GoGear line (NOT the "Songs" or "Album" folder underneath the "Library"). This will bring up a list of songs stored on the GoGear into the middle pane of Windows Media Player 11. Highlight (single left click) a song you want to delete and press the delete button on your computer's keyboard. windows USUALLY gives you a prompt asking if you really want to delete the files/they will be permanently removed from your (GoGear) device. Congratulations, you have just deleted songs from your GoGear! :-)

No playlist found

One of the pesky features of windows Media Player is that if you delete the song/playlist from the computer's harddrive, and then resync your device to that same computer, then oftentimes the song/playlist disappears. Reacquire the song/playlist, and then try resyncing to the goGear again.

You plug in your mp3 player and turn on Windows Media Player.

Then you go to now playing and you click on the button that says "Now Playing" and it has a drop down arrow. Then Go to Sync list and go to "Explore Device". Then click on music, right click on the song you want to delete and go to remove frome device.

It should work depending on what version of Windows Media Player you have
