I transfered some spoken audio books to the player. The chapters are in order before I put them in, but they do not play in order. Player is NOT set on shuffle

Mine seems to be playing in order. But STARTS AT BEGINNING of the book everytime I turn it off. Then I have to ff through until I get to the spot I left off. How can you return quickly to where you left off?
I may have found a fix-
I save the chapters to a separate file in windows then rename them, so that the difference in the title is at the front of the name rather than the end. For example- if the titles looked like;
Book Title Chapter number CD1 01
Book Title Chapter number CD1 02
I remamed them to;
101 Book Title Chapter number CD1 01
102 Book Title Chapter number CD1 02
Etc.
I then transfered them to the Mp3 player as files, in the music section, then created a new folder for each cd and moved them into that. So far, so good, playing in order, and starts where I left off.
It didn't save my audio book into chapters or files. It is just one big file I guess.
