Help... I got a 14-inch sharp model no. 14AG1-S. The problem is I cannot get the exact TV reception. I checked the system. it only has video system as : auto, pal, secam and NTSC 4.43; and an audio system as B/G, D/K and I. I am from the Phillipines. Our other TV has good reception with the NTSC 3.58 and audio system of M. What is the the proper remedy for the sharp TV to have a good reception on the TV chaneels?

Remember the DTR must be either on or left in standby at all times to receive the EPG and programme downloads. • The guide will update at the next scheduled slot (between 11am and 12pm daily).
Updates are also quicker if you change from 14 day EPG to the 8 day version...

If your TVs internal telescopic antenna has broken, you can us an external antenna from connecting to the rear antenna socket. For that you have to buy some extend of antenna cable, and a yagi antenna; as it is better for reception. If your TV screen size is 14" or below, a small wire of length 2 mteres or so is enough. Buy one Balun coil assembly fro electronic sparepart shop, and connect this wire to it, connect it to the antenna socket at the back of the TV, and with picutre just wave it to some side where you get the maximum picutre clarity.
If you TV screen size is more than 14 inches, external yagi antenna shoud be used for claear transmission reception, and it must be directed well towards the tranmitter also. Alaingning it is a trial and error process, at which position you gets the clearest picture, without any Ghosts. OK.
Getting reception for you is not something we can conjure up. Therew could be a million resons why u cant get reception including a damaged TV receiver or a damaged Disk receiver, broken coax etc etc etc.
You can buy a meter that connects in line between the dish and the Tv that will measure any signal being received for about $20. But is no guarantee that the TV is not faulty even if you see a good signal on the display. Often better to engage a Tech on site than fall off the roof and become a para or electocute yourself playing around inside the TV.
Life is more valuable than saving a few bucks on a tech!
Your remote is defective in that it does not send a strong enough signal to the tv. It is possible that the receiving portion of the tv could be defective but I have not run into that case on tvs that are so new. Since it is so relatively new I would ask for a new one and try it in the store. In either case you need to do this before the warranty is out on your new purchase.
A tv that old isn't worth more than $100, The part could cost half of that or even more depending on the exact model, definitely not worth it. A tv that size is a decent price today, Just buy a tv that can get a digital signal and you will be set for next year with it. Let me know if you need anything else
