Hello,
The blinking power light is a sure sign of a power supply failure. The
heat buildup in the case causes parts called capacitors to blow and
short out the power supply making the power light blink. If you can solder then you should be able to do the repair yourself. Go to our web
site at:
www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm
we have pictures of what blown capacitors look like. Now open up your
monitor and look at the power supply. Replace all of the caps that look
like the pictures and you should have a working monitor again. The
replacement caps will need to be high temp which is marked 105c. The
values that you need to get will be marked on the sides of the bad caps
you take out such as 220uf, 470uf or 1000uf plus a voltage rating. The
caps can be ordered from several places on the internet or we can
supply them for you. Do not use caps from Radio Shack they are not
rated for this type of use and will blow out in a few weeks of use.
When you replace the bad ones be sure to insert them with the polarity
stripe on the side going the same direction as the old ones come out.
If you have any questions just ask. If you don't want to do the repair
yourself we do offer a repair service for $30 + return shipping.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.
