Boot cycle over and over(is that redundant?)

Have had history of the 8611 problem
Now it says windows 2000 is loading , then after first progress screen shows progress bar in a splash screen, then solid blue screen, then black and reboots again(over and over)

Re: Boot cycle over and over(is that redundant?)

Sounds like the hard drive, make sure the hard drive is seen in the BIOS. If it is try a repair using the 2K disk. If this does not fix the problem. You will need to reload the O.S. These suggestions are only if you have an operational hard drive. If you have a bad hard drive, replace and reload the O.S. BPCS

I own a Toshibe Satellite L350D-215 running windows 7, when I power on the laptop it brings up the Toshiba welcome screen then loads a screen stating that there is or has been a problem and you have...

Sounds like you need to run the recovery disk

If your have the Recovery Disk put it in and boot from cd/dvd,
[Push "F12" at the Toshiba boot screen to access the Boot Menu]

you will loss all your info,,

to save your info [pic's] you will need to plug your hard drive into a desktop with sata.. and back up you info that way then run the disk

if you dont have the disk you will need to get a new windows 7 dvd or contact toshiba for a new Recovery Disk set,

Some times they put the Recovery on the hard drive but i think you need the disk with this one.

Boots to progress bar before loading windows

It seems that windows tries to check your Hard Disk for errors before loading the system files to memory. Do you hear some sounds from your hard disk? If you can successfully get to windows, open my computer => right click on drive C => Click on Properties => Click on TOOLS Tab and click CHECK NOW button.

Check the next 2 options and answer YES when windows ask you to schedule a thorough scan during next boot.

Windows Won't Load

Same thing happened to me. Looks like your windows install is damaged. My advice, do a fresh install of windows. You won't lose any of your files, but you will have to reinstall most of your software and drivers.

It says there are error codes 163, 8611, and 163 time and date pop up but if you try and pass that it freezes and shuts down again. please help

The 163 error is a BIOS Date & Time error. Go tinto the BIOS setting and set the Date & Time. If you boot up the next time and you get the same error, this is cause by a flat BIOS battery, replace with a new battery.
The 8611 error relates to the PS2 mouse bus connector, try a new mouse or use a USB mouse.

Xp not installing

Before installing clear the entire HDD (zero write or remove master boot record). Then clean install. I have had this same issue several times in the past and 99% of the time this has worked for me be it laptops or desktops.
