Corrupted or lost driver code 39

I am receiving a Code 39 driver corrupted or missing. I need help trying to fix this. It is for my cd rom drive. It's not even listed in "My computer" Can you please help me out with this? Thank you for the replies,
Part of the problem is that I don't have any of the CD's that go to the computer. I don't have the Window XP anymore, and I don't have the cd with the drivers, so I am not sure how I would reinstall the driver once I delete it.
Let me know if I uninstall, how do I reinstall without the driver disk.
If you could with step by step, I am no where near a pro at this, maybe just a little computer illiterate.
