Press and hold the SETUP button until you hear the first announcement. Press ANNC/SKIP or MEMO/REPEAT to change the language setting. The message window shows the current setting (E for English and S for Spanish).

I have had this same problem, for about the same amount of time... I cant stand it!! Okay, here is the solution.. Press and hold the Skip button, on the base of the answering machine, for two seconds.. TA DAH!! all better. lol...
1.Press the mute/menu button until >1Eng, 2FRA, 3ESP shows in the display. 1ENG is the default. (ENG stands for English. FRA stands for French. ESP stands for Spanish.)
2. Use the CALLER ID-VOLUME (Up or Down) button or the touch-tone pad on the handset to select 1eng.
3. Then Press mute/menu again to save.
