Rca projection tv sound problem

I have a rca projection tv model number p52750wk and while watching tv today the sound just shut off. It has a good picture but no sound at all on the tv speakers or the external speakers. I came back on once by itself for about 30 seconds and then the sound quit again.

Re: rca projection tv sound problem

You could try to get the set fixed but I would say the set is just worn out.

Time to buy a new TV I think (going by the picture above anyway)

Check the internal speaker first. If found OK, check and replace damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit.

Tv shut off while watching

We have the same trouble! It is the power transformer. These models had faulty ones. Can you believe that this is the 2nd time we have had this problem? And our Beautiful RCA XBOX Entertainment Series TV's that is only 6 years old and there cousins all have these problems!!!! Our repairman (and good friend) told us that it would cost about $250 to fix. Of course he didn't recommend us doing this because the TV TUBES in these series are also very weak. He says that these Large Screen RCA TV's do not make it much past 5 to 7 years. So if you spend the money to have it fixed you will most likely be wasting your time and your money! Sure it will work for another year, but that is about all!
It is far better do what we are doing and go out and buy a new TV. Our Repairman Friend spend a lot of time researching new Flat Screen TV's for good quality and longevity. He states that we all should look at buying a good solid brand like Panasonic if you are going with a 32 inch TV or smaller. A Sharp if you are going larger then 32 inch. Far Better Quality on these TV's and a lot longer life! He states that the other cheap ones that we see out there today already are having a lot of problems! You get what you pay for!
These cheaper so-called bargains will have lots more problems in the months ahead and most will more then likely stop working all together in 2 to 4 years. So buyers beware of these great TV prices on these cheaper models! PLEASE do your homework and please listen to us and our repairman and you will not end up screwed like we were! Now we are stuck with an old RCA clunker which warranty expired after the first fix which was not done correctly! They came out and put a little solder and adjusted the Transformer instead of replacing. It was just enough to last another 6 months for the warranty to expire! Shame on you RCA! We then went out and bought one of these cheaper models and found that the quality is terrible! It already has problems and we are fighting to get them to honor the Warranty! Did I mention buyer beware? Something that looks and sounds too good to be true usually always is! Sorry for the long response! I just hope thise helps others!

My RCA big screen tv sound shuts off

This could be several different problems. You could have loose solder joints, bad capacitors, or the aodio ouput IC could be getting hot andf failing and needs to be replaced.

No sound on older samsung tv

techs call this a cold or a bad solder connection on the output transistor most likely, tap on it here and there when it happens on the bottom and side of tv, if sound comes in then stops again then it would be a loose connection due to heat over time, if your inclined u can be fixed it, if bad chip it would play first then shut off, or if u have a cable box or rca outputs on tv use them on an amp to get sound, that would bypass amp output and u will use the preamp section which is a different circuit,

Sounds like a bad horizontal transistor and flyback transformer . Do you know how to unsolder and or solder ? If so you might have a chance . If no the avg. to get repaired is around $90.00 to $130.00 so shop around as some shops will charge more . The parts you could buy your self for around $30.00 to 40.00 . Good luck and if you think you could fix let me know and see if i can get you part numbers .

RCA 32 in TV no picture no sound just a beeping noise TV power is on

Hello cote,

This indicates a problem in the power supply either the low voltage switching supply or the High voltage power supply. The sounds you hear is the shutdown circuit activating, I would not suggest that you try to repair this problem because of the dangers involved. I would suggest that you take it to a qualified TV repair shop. This problem should not cost you much, however it is the best choice for the problem you described.

I hope this helps,
Thank you,

This model has a history of being plaged with bad solder connections, and that may be your problem still today. If your state has "lemon laws" you might want to pursue that venue if contacting RCA directly doesn't produce results. RCA's have been my bread and butter for at least the last 12 or so years in the service business but I would not buy one today for myself.
