  • deanoo Dec 29, 2007

the device is working properly... i followed all your steps. i think by putting in the usb mass storage device i must have caused a glitch in the dvd player i am having trouble with. i do not have any purpose for the usb device. i was trying to play music with it that i had downloaded on to it. i just want to correct the dvd player which seems to be locked or reset

  • deanoo Dec 29, 2007

i think that it could have, because i was having problems with my computer.. i was downloading from limewire onto the device, then tried to play the music on my player from that usb device

Yes I know,  I have reed the original problem various times. I was wondering if maybe you unplugged it to fast or hard. If you are not sure about plugging it in, because you think it will make things worse ok.
I was just thinking that if you connect it again, it might detect it, then you kindly unplug it, and it might understand the driver is out.

for that reason deanoo, If the problem only occur when playing from USB kindly verify your USB if there is safety lock on it, try to unlock it. if non ,
maybe you have to reformat your usb drive to clean out all annoyance features on it.

Samsung Plasma PN58B860 works fine for about an hour that a yellow error message "Not Available" shows up in the center of the screen and won't go away or allow power off without unplugging the TV.

Do you have a program preview button i.e. one that shows details of current program and the following program. When the message appears try hitting that preview button.

Write protect error olympus c 150 (cant get rid of read only)

Hi!

You might wanna check on your memory card. It could be that it is currently on write-protected mode. What you want to do is to check it now and then look for something like a push button. If its on the top position, push it downwards. Vice versa.

Flashes protector

Protet mode is a special diagnostic mode that starts when a fault is detected.

When in protection mode the unit is prevented from starting by protection circuit, so to prevent further damage.

Check the speakers and speakers wiring, a contact in speaker wires, or faulty speakers can send the unit in protection.

Try unplugging power cable for one hour or so. then connect cable back and see if you get rid of protect state. Sometimes accumulation of electrostatic charges inside circuit capacitors can kick in protect mode. In that case unplugging the unit from main for some times can get rid of electrostatic charges, and reset circuits by draining power completely.
If that was the problem, you will not get Protect when plugging back power cable.

If you do all the above and still get Protect, then there is a real fault.

In that case the unit may be disassembled and tested to find the fault.

If that is the case I suggest contacting the manufacturer at the number listed on the owners manual, or asking a quote on repair to a local technician.

ReadyBoost Error

In the future, always use the Safe Removal method before removing a USB drive. This prevents this kind of error in the first place.

If you haven't done so already, reboot, then insert the USB. Make sure there are no windows open which reference the USB device. Then use Safe Removal (right click in the lower right hand corner of the task bar. That should clear it.

If that doesn't work, right click the USB drive in My Computer, choose Properties. See if you can clear the Read Only setting.

Last resort - copy off the files you need from the USB, and format it.

HP MD5880n TV Screen flashing

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.

Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
connected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

On LCD Pay particular attention at inverter and power board, power board can be inspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with a multimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need to read voltages, should be done by a tech. Also the LCD controller board can cause same problem

On Plasma, test Sustain (Ysus/Zsus) / Buffer boards , cables to plasma, digital board and power board.

On Rear Projection : check lamp, lamp ballast, power board, and convergence.

On CRT TVs, check ballast , flyback transformer, CRT, Tuner, Convergence.

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1.
