Maxtor 3200 80 GB external hard drive

-   Also have Maxtor 3200 EHD that is no longer recognized as a drive. USB detects the case correctly but apparently the disk is not spinning as it never mounts or recognizes as a disk drive. Evil or not I would really really like to get the data (photos) off this disk (this was my backup disk so those internal files I can lose; I know now to backup EHD to Internal HDD somewhere but these files do not have such a backup).

I can't really afford $700 for the recovery fee that I was quoted.-   scswanberg

-   RAN SEATOOLS FOR DOS, AND SEATOOLS FOR WINDOWS NEITHER FIND THE DRIVE.(EXT SEAGATE ST3100 203 U2-RK (USB W/EXT POWER
POWERED ON AND OFF, CHECKED CONNECTORS.
ONCE IN A WHILE WINDOWS (MY COMPUTER) RECOGOGNIZES ST3100 AND i CAN ACCESS THE FILES.
THEN IT GOES AWAY, DRIVE GREEN LITE IS ON, AND CLICKS LIKE IT IS DOING DIAGNOSTICS OR SOMETHING.-   Guest
