Question about Bose (321GS) System

Bose 321 The remote stopped mworking. The units still works manualy. Changen the bateries and reset, and the remote did not worked at all.....

I have same issue. This happened on 12/31/2007 after 13 months of operation. Though remote is not controlling the unit, it controls TV. I went to BOSE showroom (Chennai, India) and remote worked perfectly with their GS display unit. Then I went to service center. Serviceman promised me to send a CD with software upgrade. Let me wait for a day or 2 receive CD and test it. Have you got any solution.

Clean out the battery connection inside the battery case. Incase this work disassemble your remote and find any fault connection in it. or let the repair man do it.

If the remote work change the setting press PBC mode this will change the color. or refer to the manual for changing view setting.

Bose 321 sound fading

Try the following:

1) Switch the unit off completely, using the powerswitch on the back of the bass box.
2) Switch the unit back on via de switch on the bass box.
3) The display should read BOSE 321 and than be dark.
4) Insert a CD and switch the unit on with the remote by selecting the CD/DVD mode.
5) When the sound is now OK, it means that you need to contact Bose to ask them for the latest software update for your unit. After updating your system. The problem will not reoccur.
6) in case the problem continues and at start-up using a CD, no improvement of sound is heard, the system should go into repair. Contact Bose in your country and ask for return instructions.

My bose 321 system remote sometimes works then stops works and works again. I am confused since i have bought new batteries. thank you.

If the fault started ONLY after the batteries were replaced, it is important that in the first place if the battery was leaked and oozed onto to the board.
if so you need to open and clean the board. Also make sure that the contacts of the battery are clean, If not there is fault in the board, it will be good to remove, clean , heat off moisture and reset.

having same problem with my bose 321 GSX. my mom just got shaw digital and likes the shaw remote better than the bose one. I can program the bose remote to do everything but can't seem to do it for the shaw remote. I think i need a code for bose as a reciever? I dunno... any help would be good eh!

Is vol buttons button on unit do the same, try remote.
If not try unplug from wall wait hour and try agian, if not bose update cd..

My Bose 321 series II is not responding to the control remote commands. Everything else does (TV, VCR,etc), but the BOSE receiver does not.

Replace the batteries from the remote control. Press and hold the TV button on remote for 5 seconds. If the red light shines bright, your remote is OK since it is showing it's programmable side. If unit still won't go on using the remote, reboot the whole system by unplugging the power cord and other wire from the Subwoofer. Wait one minute, then replug all and see if the system displays BOSE 321 in front when re-connected. If so, try the remote and if that doesn't work, your dead, the Infra red communication device from the unit to the remote is busted inside the unit and needs to be returned to the company like mine!!!!!

Well, it seems that this may be a common issue with this BOSE unit. My 321 GSIII was working fine as well for about a week. After a full frustrating day of switching, disconnecting, reconnecting cables and resetting the unit and TV several times, I was forced to call the BOSE Technical. They tried to help with the situation over the phone by directing me to do just about everything I did before I ever called them. After about an hour of their unsuccessful help, they left me in saying that I will now have to run Composite cables because my TV will not connect for some reason through HDMI even though it was working for a short time. AHHHHH...I custom prepared the walls in my new office to accommodate non-exposed cables and wires and now BOSE is saying to expose Composite cables. Tomorrow, I am going to connect the Composite cables to confirm if the 321 will now work that way (for curiousty). I will then call BOSE back and demand a replacement unit. I will keep all in the loop with my progress of this situation.

Bose 321 Remote not working

Pull off the front panel, be carefull there is a ribbon attached. Detach the ribbon. There are 2 ribbons attached to the front panel, one that leads to the IR (remote sensor) and other for the controls on the top of the unit.

Most likely the ribbon that goes to the IR sensor detached itself, this is common if the unit is dropped etc. Insert the ribbons (2) re-attach the front panel and the remote should work fine. You'll notice some tape on the IR ribbon, I suggest using some stronger tape, BOSE tape thats not very good.

This happened to me on my 3-2-1 GS II system and fixed it.

Remote stopped working

already tried a new remote and new batteries. bose says the ir bulbs need replacement so i'm taking it in. shucks.
