TEAC - CD-X9 - No sound in left speaker

I've only this a couple of times in 18 months, and when recently hooking itup, there is no sound on the left speakr (the speakers both work .. I switched the left and right jacks), but nothing works out of the left jack on the back of the sub-woofer . I get bass and sound on the right output only. Any thoughts?

Re: TEAC - CD-X9 - No sound in left speaker

The speaker wire itself could be grounding out. look for small knicks in the wire and make sure the plug is not faulty. RCA plugs can go bad which would account for intermitent troubles some times

Both left & right socket use the same speaker

The manual I just download from Teac shows two sockets for each speaker. Is this a second-hand model? It's possible that someone has tampered with it, perhaps fitting a headphone socket to the back of the unit with the speakers wired to one plug.

This sounds like an internal amplifier problem. Did you smell anything burn? Try turning it off completely and plugging it to a different outlet.

If all else fails, have it checked by an electronics technician...

Just bought the speakers of a teac cd-x9 thinking it was for a pc. Is it even compatable? If so, do you have a pin out for the input plug? thx

Pin-out??? It's a standard RCA AUX input that accepts and standard stereo Line Level source. Your PC has that or a 3.5mm output that can be adapted to standard RCA.

I'm trying to hook up using 2 little rca speakers, for L/R i've set the reciver to 2 speaker setup and for some reason i can't get sound from my speakers. any ideas? I've got HDMI from a Samsung DVD player...

If the amplifier supplies a different resistance rating (ohms) than the speakers draw, it might automatically shut down the amplifier to protect from damage. Make sure the Teac output matches the speakers required input. Hooking up speakers that draw 8 ohms to an amp that supplies 2 ohms can cause amplifier damage.

Hum in TEAC EX-M3 radio

(1) Is the hum out of both speakers?? (2) Is the sound distorted out of any of the speakers?? If the answer is yes to 1 and no to 2 then it sounds like one of the smoothing blocks or capacitors have gone down and requires replacement. If no to 1 then you probably have blown the output chip or taken one side of it out, check all connections to the speakers, try not to use tape joints which are unreliable. If you do have to piece the cable, solder the connections. Then replace the chip, Ian

Buzz or annoyign static sound from speakers when CD is played

you can either use good quality thick insulated wires, also keep the power source far from speakers also try to keep the speakers little away from main unit.
