Question about Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook
My Acer aspire 5610z Laptop will not boot with over 2GB ram. I purchased two 2GB Corsair RAM modulws and if both are inserted in position 1 and 2 the system hangs up and I cannot even access the bios. Either of them work in either position. In their specs they note that it it upgraded to 4GB,
Any suggestions ?
The 5610 and 5610z have two different amounts of support for ram the 5610 can handle 4gigs where as the Z can only handle 2 gigs

Make sure you got the right speed -
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-4200 or DDR2 PC2-5300.
If you got faster than 5300 they may not clock down properly.
If the memory is the correct specs then it may simply not be compatible and you will have to try different RAM.
I have the best luck on laptops with Crucial ram - they have certified ram for many systems. here is a link for yours:
