my hp dv2000 randomly goes into hibernation, but won't restart. On shutting down and restart doesn't always restart fully.

very possible you have a registry issue. my suggestion would be running a reg. cleaner like ccleaner and rebooting. a lot of times this will cure those type issues. if not, go to start,control panel, power options and check the status of the hibernation there.
