Question about Fuji FinePix S5000 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Switch glitch When i turn on my camera it goes off again within a few seconds (or maybe less). I have to turn it all the way off (slowly) and on again. Sometimes it stays on (at least long enough for a photo) and other times not. Has been getting worse so now the camera is pretty useless. I am presuming that the switch has had it (any other suggestions?) Interestingly while it was under warranty i had switch problems and it was replaced so this is the second switch on the camera. Is the switch a common problem with this carmera? Is it worth fixing? i had really like the camera up until recently.

I have the same camera and it does something very similar. I'm guessing it is not the switch but rather the internal battery for memory backup needs replaced. It is not a do it yourself repair nor is it cheap. One option you can try is to use the setup option in the camera shooting mode and adjust the power saver feature. It has 3 settings, Off, 2mins, and 5 mins. Set it to off and see what happens

I think you have a leaking headgasket or a coolant leak. Have the cooling system pressure tested first, if no external leaks show up then you have a possible leaking headgasket.

Canon 580 EXII turns off slowly

If you restart it immediately, and the unit seems like it is just starting, it may be the charge capacitor is shorting out, or there is excessive gate leakage of the thyristor

My AOC screen goes black after about a few seconds after booting.

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

1) I turn on the power and place a prerecorded

If it is not a bad soldering joint somewhere, it could be the mode switch. They can sometimes be cleaned with Servisol Video 40, but you might have to replace it.

It turn the power on and on again and nothing happens

This is a common problem for all Sony Cybershot digital cameras. It is saying the error "Access" because whenever you turn it on, the camera finds it hard to retract and open out the lens. Chances are, there is some sand or maybe dust or dirt of These are few things you can do.

You can blow a compressed air on the camera's lens to try to take off the dirt or granule of sand stuck within the lens. Also, you can try to hold the camera from your right hand with the lens facing the ground and hit the camera's base on your left palm. Do this several times.

Let me know if this helped you. Goodluck!

Check the settings for the autobalancing, something sounds like it's glitched. Also, try the head-tracking. Try turning it off and returning it to normal zoom.

Monitor goes black

It always does that while it's powering up the flash again. If you're saying it doesn't come back after a few more seconds, that is a problem. Or maybe by that time, the power saver kicks in. You can tell if the power light starts blinking. Then you just have to press the shutter button again to turn it back on.
