Try pressing the power button down and holding it for a few seconds and see if your WII comes back to life. When I first got my Wii I would hold down the button just long enough for it to turn green. This seems like a standby mode. To get my Wii to turn off completly I needed to hold down
the button until it turned red and when restarting the WII I held doen the button until the Wii started back up.
Have you tried syncing the Wii remotes? To sync, turn the Wii on, open the back of the remote and then press a red button that says "SYNC". Then open the SD card slot in the front of the Wii and press another red "SYNC" button. If you do this, your Wii remotes should be able to turn on.
You need to synchronize them to your Wii. First turn on your Wii. Open the battery compartment on the back of your Wii-mote and the front SD Card door on the front of your Wii. There is a little round red SYNC button on the back of your Wii-mote and a red SYNC button on your Wii in that door. Press the button on the remote and then on the Wii and it should sync. If it doesn't work at first try again. You know it is synched when one of the four LED lights at the bottom of the Wii-mote is solid.
There is no light on the front, correct? No red, yellow or green?
Considering how often I see this problem, I'm amazed Nintendo didn't address it in their FAQ on the Wii. This
is a common problem with the Wii. It happens
almost every time there is a power surge or the power goes out, etc. Even
if it's hooked up to a surge protector, this happens.
Power will come back
on, but the Wii appears dead. It won't turn on, and the LED indicators
won't light. If there was a power surge, or the power went
out,etc...anything, this will happen. The problem is with the AC adapter, not the Wii itself.
You need to reset the AC adapter to get the Wii to work again. There is a circuit inside the AC adapter that needs to be reset.
Unplug the AC adapter from the wall/surge protector outlet. Don't unlpug
it from the Wii, it has to be at the outlet. You have to kill power to
the adapter.
Unlpug it from the wall/surge protector outlet,
and leave it unplugged for 5 or 10minutes. This will kill power to the
AC adapter, and give the circuit time to reset. When you plug the
adapter back into the outlet after 10 minutes, the red led on the front
should be lit up.
Here are few Home remedies that should help you fix the issue. If you still face any problems then it is an internal issue with your remote and you will have to contact the nintendo support.
Clean the Wii remote pointer lens. Use a soft cloth to remove
any sticky substances. Wii remote jackets, stickers or other objects
should not block the remote pointer lens, as it will cause characters
to move erratically, disappear or remain off-center.
Operate the Wii remote between three to eight feet away from the sensor. Otherwise, it will not perform properly.
Note
that infra-red lights from candles, toys, appliances, fireplaces and
even sunlight may effect how the Wii remote performs. Try to remove or
reduce infra-red interference from these sources when possible.
Turn
off or move wireless devices located near the Wii console. You may be
experiencing radio frequency interference from other wireless devices.
Check to see if anything is blocking the sensor. Clear objects
away from the sensor and console to enable the remote to send a clear
signal to the Wii system.
Center
the sensor bar directly below or above your television. Having the
sensor off-center may cause the Wii remote to perform poorly.
Re-sync the Wii remote to the Wii system:
Completely turn off the Wii system. Remove the batteries from
the remote. Turn the power off on the Wii console. Unplug the unit from
the wall. Wait five seconds and then replug the unit into the wall.
Push
the power button to turn on the Wii console. After the health and
safety screen appears, open the small door on the front of the Wii
console. Locate the red SYNC button. Push down on the SYNC button for
fifteen seconds. This resets all previous SYNCS on the Wii system.
Re-sync
the Wii remote. Locate the red button on the remote control under the
battery cover. Push and release this red button. The Wii remote should
respond with blinking blue lights.
Push
and release the red SYNC button on the Wii console. Place the batteries
back in the remote. When the remote is successfully re-synced, the LED
light will remain lit.
Repeat the re-syncing process with all other Wii remotes on this system.
Try a different power outlet and if that doesn't work reseat the ac adaptor into the Wii.
If that still doesn't work, try another known working ac adaptor and if the Wii still doesn't turn on then that means that the Wii has a bad main board and you'll need to replace the Wii or have it sent in for service if its still under warranty.
Try to reconnect your wii-motes, by using the red button on the wii underneath that front flap where you would put the SD card. and then the other red button on the controller where you put the batteries in. and make sure the batteries are fresh
When you turned off the Wii, did the light turn red or amber? If you haven't done this already, hold the power button until it shuts off, and the light is red. Power it back up and try your remote again.
