my MLE2000 washer will start to spin during the spin cycle but stops after only a few seconds, then sits for 20 secs then starts to spin the other direction for a few seconds, then stops and sits for 20 secs - it continues to do this for the whole spin cycle and then the cycle /timer finishes and the units shuts off. seems like a problem with a control device - the motor seems to be working o.k. when it is commanded to run. is this some kind of control board problem???

- WHILE YOUR SUGGESTIONS SOUND REASONABLE, I HAVE FOUND THAT JUST AT THE END OF THE SPIN CYCLE THE UNIT WILL SPIN CONTINUOSLY FOR 20-30 SECS AT LOW-MED SPEED AND THEN THE TIMER SHUTS OFF THE CYCLE - I BELEIVE IT IS A CONTROL BOARD TYPE PROBLEM - THE DOOR POSITION SWITCHS APPEAR TO BE WORKING NORMALLY
more likely an itntermitent lid switch problem as the washer strats it's spin cycle the motion is causuning the lid switch to open making the washer think some one has opened the lid and it shuts down to be safe check the switch make sure it hasn't come loose and check the actuator on the lid sometimes a plastic piece near the front of the lid that goes into sort of a key hole Good Luck

- hmmm ..the plot thickens first of all must appoligize for my spelling some body must have hit me with a stupid stick ;-) Ok I know this will sound silly but please try unplugging the washer for a minute or two yep turns out it is processor controlled reboot might fix it (doubt it..yeah me too)
you sound ambitious go digging find the control board it will look something like this
make sure all connectors are pushed firmly in place and as it turns out some of these boards are problematic so have good look with a bright light
have a look for a damaged component on the board obvious stuff will be burnt less obvious will be loose or not soldered properly the fact that it is continuing to the end of the cycle and it is doing it every time is in itself unusual, is it doing it on all of the different wash processes delicate warm ect..
you will remember to unplug please Good Luck
