Question about RCA D52W20 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
When tv is turned on the indicator light comes on and after about 5 seconds shuts off and then on and then off again....will not stay on.
If the idicator light flashes this indicates a processor shutdown. first thing a customer can do is uplug for 30 min and try again. This never works i must admit but it eliminate the processor lockup chance. Now if it still does this then you have a problem the processor has detected a cuircit failure and shut the set down for safety. This also tells you it not a "FUSE" since the procesor is getting power. The processor generates a error log that can be read by a technician and a computer. other than that all i can offer is check for loose connection and if you have any technician experence alway check horizontal output transitor. BE CAREFULL TELEVISION GENERATED DANGEROUS AND POTETIAL LETHAL VOLTAGES.

SOURCE: TV WILL NOT COME ON
Your tv is probably going into a "protection mode" this means something inside the set had failed. This is the tv's way of shutting down before more damage can occur. This could mean many different things that could have gone wrong with this unit. Your best bet is to call your local dealer and have them come out and look at it for you. Tearing apart tv's is very dangerous! Some sets have up to 30,000 volts on the anode! GOOD LUCK!
