Question about Lexmark JetPrinter X1185 All-In-One InkJet

Lexmark X1185 on a mac OS X 10.4.11

My printer won't print any more. I haven't done anything different. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times. I was looking at downloading an updated driver, but i can't find one. Has any one got a solution?

Check to make sure the printer is set as the default printer. For some reason macs seem to deselect the printer

I have a Lexmark E120 and I am using it with a Mac OS X 10.4 When I try printing the green light blinks and the rotators rotate + I get a "completed task" message on Printer Manager BUT no paper gets fed...

Hello, Uninstall the Driver from your Mac and download the following driver online. and install it. That should resolve your problem. Take into account that this is only for the Lexmark E120n if you have the Lexmark E120 then there are no drivers for Mac OS 10.4.

Driver for lexmark x1185 using mac os 10.5

He can simply plug it in to the computer (the Mac) and if it does not work immediately, then run software update. Software update should be ran WITH the printer plugged into the computer. It will then show an update called "Lexmark Printer Driver 1.1" and is about 71MB in size. After installing this update, the printer should work fine.

I just put new ink Cartridges but still wont print


Most of the time the "problem communicating with the printer" message pops up on Lexmark X1185 series when the driver gets corrupted. The best fix for this issue would be to uninstall the software first. Try connecting the USB to a different USB port (Please avoid using USB hubs, if any) and then reinstall the software. This should normally fix the printer communication issues!

Printer not working

Through Add/Remove programs, uninstall all Lexmark items.

Next, make sure that the printer is deleted (Control Panel-Printers)

Disconnect the USB cable from the PC.


Insert the Lexmark CD, If yo uhave the correct OS drivers on the disk,and let it run. When it tells you to, connect the USB cable form the printer to the pc. __________________

Lexmark x1185 cartridge error msg

Step 1). Try cleaning the gold contacts on the print cartridge and on the printer itself with a pen eraser and a little alcohol.

Step 2). Uninstall the printer software and reinstall it.

Step 3). If the above two steps fail try a new cartridge. If none of these solutions work there is an electronic problem with the printer and it will have to be professionally diagnosed or replaced.

Mac os 10.5

I think the problem is that lexmark never made this printer mac os compatible. I have one and the disk it came with was for windows only, while i have a 3300 series and that came with a disk for both windows and mac.

My printer not responding

Ok, so you have tried a reset and no good. Try this again but this time unplug it too, all cords and cables. Replug, turn it on. Wait. Once reset again, check to see no print jobs queued and if so, cancel all print jobs by clicking on start, control panel, printers, icon of printer, scrol to properties, cancel print jobs. Try reprinting now.
