HELP Green spots

We have a Panasonic PT-61LCX65 61 inch and have a couple of green spots that have appeared on the screen. We cleaned the bulb housing that was suggested in another post but we still have our spots. A local TV repair place said something about an optical unit and that it would cost arounf $1100.00- WOW !! anyone have some ideas on this.. What's an optical unit and how hard would it be to replace.

Panasonic pt-61lcx65 green spot

This may be a main board issue if the green spot moves. This is repairable. This may be a panel issue if it does not move and it is present on the panasonic splash screen and if it affects the osd menu.

Green spot

Easy fix. I had the same green spot problem with PT-52LCX65 and I removed the front panel (no screws). In the center is a panel that has two screws. Remove them and pull the cover off. There you will find the projection bulb. Do not clean the bulb but instead the base. Use a damp cloth to wipe the dust off the black disk (the base of the projection bulb housing). Apparently the dust through static electricity may cause enough magnetism to distort your picture. Hope this helps.
