Dxg608 camera is a pain to underdstand

just can't set the dxg608 up to just take a proper picture. Have had friends try with other digital cameras and they can't figure it out either. blurry pictures, don't understand shutter speeds, although I do know it needs to be set at a fast speed, but which one for general pics. Don't understand all those settings. Even set on Automatic, it doesn't take proper pics, video no problem. the users manual isn't worth ****!
