I have a LP gas dryer,midway up the the vent hose I have a box that directs the hot air either to basement (winter )or outside ..is the hot air dangerous ie. carbon monoxide etc

Wizif it were electric I'd say it was ok, but for gas, the combustion products go out through the vent along with the humidity.
